Text Box: 	It’s so great to be here living in Germany! I am immersed in German    language school and      enjoying speaking to many people on the streets.
	With Klaus it is so easy to start conversations with the locals, in fact, they are the ones who initiate most conversations! I have yet to see another Akita like Klaus, and many     Germans aren’t familiar with the breed. They are humored by the fact that I have a Japanese dog with a German name.
	In language school I have made new friends from all over the world. They are in a similar 
Text Box: 	We were also able to spend an afternoon with my friend Ahmet from   language school in Lorrach!
	My dad was also able to meet my long-time pen-pal Frank Ratfisch and his wife Ursula. Frank is now 86 and was a POW in the USA during WWII!
Text Box: 	My father was able to visit me for two weeks! What a great time to show him this area and also what life is like for an American living in Germany. 
	He got to do some of the simple things like shopping at the local     grocery store and helping me organize my apartment. We also went to many   restaurants and local sights in Switzerland, France and Germany. 
	In Switzerland are some Roman ruins from as far back as 76AD. In France

Lorrach Castle

we went to a WWI battle site and graveyard. In    Germany we visited local castles and another set of Roman ruins.

             All these historic places are very close to where I live.

             He was also able to go with me to the offices in   Mullheim to meet my co-workers. We also had dinner with the Melli’s,  Garrity’s and George’s… All missionaries supported in some way by my home church of Hinson.

predicament as I… A    foreigner ( Auslander) who needs to learn the German language to communicate with others.

             Yuliya is from Ukraine and married to a German national, Rina is from Japan, Ahmet is from Turkey and married to a German national, Christo is from the Spanish Canary Islands, Remi is from France and Eduardo is from Miami to name a few of my fellow students.
