Text Box: This summer was very busy with Backyard Bible Clubs being held all over the Portland-Vancouver area.
There is one story that sticks out in my mind of all the weeks working with children. It was on the first Monday evening at Moreland Bible Church.
No children were there as we started setting up for the evening. The neighborhood had been canvassed and children invited, but not one child had come by the time the program was scheduled to begin. As I was finishing setting up my projector and going over the lessons for Text Box: the evening in my mind I wondered if we were just going to tread water for the evening. Some had gone out to do more canvassing and some stayed for any children who might come.
45 minutes later one little girl was brought to the church by her uncle. It immediately reminded me of Luke 15:4,5; “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.”
	This one little
Text Box: where the Lord leads. I am still in great need of monthly financial support, so if you feel the Lord’s leading, and are not currently financially supporting me, I’d love to have you as a part of my support team! I must be near 100% of my monthly support before I can leave the USA for Germany.
Text Box: It’s hard to believe one year has passed since my mom’s home-going. Our family is still adjusting to the loss. So many fond memories of a loving wife, mother and grandmother for our whole family to cherish.
As a family we got together with dad for church, dinner and laying flowers from our yards on mom’s gravesite on August 15. A continued time of healing for all of us.
I see so many great reasons to have been home Text Box: this last year to be with family, but it’s time for me to move on to Europe. It has been two years since I retired from Nike and I am still convinced the Lord wants to use me in Europe for His ministry.
While I am still in Portland I will be a ‘listener’, when available, at my home church’s Awana Clubs on Wednesday nights.
Thank you all for your continued prayers, encouragement and financial help as I continue to follow Text Box: Jim’s GEM’s
