James (auf Deutsch) Lynn (auf Deutsch) (Jim) Budlong was born on September 11, 1960 and raised in
Portland , Oregon. Yes, that's 9-11. A different day since 2001. He is the youngest son of
Nihl Lawrence (auf Deutsch) (Bozy) and Shirley Budlong. He has attended Hinson Church from birth.
He accepted Christ as personal Savior and was baptized in February of 1968.
Jim graduated from Madison High School in 1978 and attended Biola College in La Mirada , California
for two years. Jim came back home and started a career with Nike, Inc. that lasted 20+ years. The last five
years of Jim's career with Nike involved computer support for the warehouse in Wilsonville, Oregon .
Jim worked as volunteer staff with Hinson Church's high school youth group for about 16 years. During this time
Jim was involved in teaching and discipling young men and leading the music worship team comprised
mostly of youth. This also involved summer missions trips almost every year. In 1998 Jim was asked
by Forward Edge International to help lead a youth group from Seattle Washington to Crow Agency Montana .
Jim had been to Crow Agency the previous two years with the Hinson youth group, working with Forward Edge.
Also in December of 1998 Jim went with Greater Europe Mission to Holsby Brunn, Sweden to do a kitchen
remodel at the Capernwray School there. His friends, Kim & Jenny Garrity, had been with Greater Europe Mission
since 1986 and had wanted Jim to join them on a work project in Europe for some time.

Jim started dedicating his vacation time at Nike to doing short-term missions trips, both with Forward Edge
and Greater Europe Mission. In 2000 Jim went with Greater Europe Mission to Kosovo in March for
a relief effort in that war-torn country. That summer Jim worked with Forward Edge and took two churches
to Canyon Day Arizona to work with the White Mountain Apaches, doing both work projects and Bible Clubs
with the children of the community. September of that year Jim went with Greater Europe Mission to
Centre des Jeunes in Northwest France for a work project at a camp there. At this point Jim felt the Lord's
lead to do more than short-term work and started considering full time work with Greater Europe Mission.
Forward Edge had no opportunities for full-time work.
In 2001 Jim went with Greater Europe Mission to La Pastorale France and worked with a team to do repairs
at a camp there. He applied and was accepted with Greater Europe Mission for candidate school in January
2002. In June of 2002 Jim retired from Nike to pursue a career in missions with Greater Europe Mission.
Eight days later Jim was in Europe for 1 ½ months doing projects in Romania and Ukraine involving outreach.
Using English and computer classes as tools for evangelism Jim was involved in projects in Timişoara ,
Orţişoara and Haţeg ( camp Bradaţel ) Romania as well as Kharkov, Ukraine . Jim was also involved
in work projects in 2003 in Kosovo and Germany .
Jim was involved in outreach with Greater Europe Mission's EuroTeam until March 2010. He has now moved
up to Cologne, Germany to work with church planting. He is now involved with Cologne in Motion church.
This involves helping lead worship on keyboard, being involved in a small group and helping with the
children's Kids in Motion program on Saturdays.
